SHIPPING ONLY AVAILABLE TO FLORIDA RESIDENTS

This non-native Pipevine is safe for both pipevine and Polydamas swallowtails. Unlike many non-native vines, this one is compatible with pipevine swallowtails, making it a suitable alternative to our native woolly pipevine. It's hardier and evergreen, making it a valuable choice, especially as it's not commonly found in nurseries. Be cautious not to confuse it with A. macroura, as they share similar traits, except for the flowers, and planting both in the same garden can lead to hybridization. Although larger, this vine is non-invasive, best suited for partial sun and moist conditions, with adaptability to full sun and dry conditions after an initial two-month establishment period. This allows the roots to establish deeply, enabling the vine to sustain itself without regular irrigation. This vine loves to trail on the ground and propagate itself in places further from the initial planting spot.

Living Conditions

  • Full sun-Shade

  • Moist-Dry

  • Evergreen

  • Size: 30ft

  • Variations of Purple, Maroon, Cream, and Yellow

  • Long Lived Perennial
